No love lost between us, My Daily Newspaper
This is one of the last things I wrote for My Daily Newspaper. This is also why I didn't cry when I was fired. Typing press releases was not worth a $15,000 journalism degree.
Heard of theme parties? Well, Oceantown Regional Police are planning traffic-themed enforcement blitzes every month.
February, HRP focussed on stop sign and crosswalk safety. They paid special attention to school zones and handed out 66 stop sign violation tickets, and six crosswalk violation tickets, along with 2000 educational pamphlets. Tickets were handed out for everything else from speeding, no insurance, seatbelt violations, and other moving offences. They handed out 1588 tickets altogether.
March is motor vehicle inspection and compliance month. HRP’s traffic unit, along with the province’s safety compliance officers, will look for unsafe vehicles, and take them off the road. On day one, police wrote 69 tickets for expired inspections. Eight vehicles were physically checked on-site on Hammonds Plains Road. Seven didn’t pass the inspection. Officers also wrote a number of truck route offence tickets.
There’s no word on what theme April will have, but I’m sure it’s going to be just as fucking exciting as the rest of these stupid things.
